Description
The training focuses on the physiology of respiration, including the mechanics of breathing, gas exchange, regulation of ventilation, respiratory control mechanisms, lung anatomy and physiology, respiratory pressures, compliance, surfactant function, and the effects of anaesthesia on ventilation and gas exchange. Participants are guided through the processes of inspiration and expiration, the role of respiratory muscles, chemoreceptors, respiratory centers, and the clinical implications of respiratory physiology in patient care and anaesthetic practice.
Objectives
Learn the physiological anatomy of the lungs.
Understand the muscles involved in respiration.
Learn the various pressures involved during respiration.
Understand the mechanisms of respiration, including inspiration and expiration.
Understand the clinical correlations of respiration and factors affecting respiratory function.
