Description
A Hepatobiliary Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) is a formal meeting of healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with liver, biliary tract, gallbladder, and pancreatic disorders. The MDT typically includes hepatobiliary surgeons, hepatologists, gastroenterologists, medical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, specialist nurses, and other allied health professionals. MDTs provide a structured forum for reviewing patient cases, sharing expertise, and agreeing on evidence-based treatment plans.
Objectives
To provide coordinated, evidence-based, multidisciplinary assessment and management of patients with hepatobiliary disorders by integrating expertise from relevant specialties to optimize clinical outcomes, patient safety, and quality of care."
