Description
The Oncology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting is a structured clinical forum in which specialists involved in cancer care.
Objectives
Improve quality of cancer care through collaborative, multidisciplinary decision making. Ensure accurate diagnosis and staging by joint review of clinical findings, radiology, and pathology. Develop individualized, evidence based treatment plans, including surgery, systemic therapy, radiotherapy, and supportive care. Optimize treatment sequencing and timing, such as neoadjuvant, adjuvant, or palliative approaches. Promote adherence to national and international oncology guidelines and best practices. Enhance communication and coordination among healthcare professionals involved in cancer management. Identify patients for specialized interventions, clinical trials, or molecular and genetic testing where appropriate. Support continuous professional development and knowledge sharing among MDT members. Improve patient outcomes and experience through comprehensive, holistic, and timely cancer care planning.
